MOTION BASED DESIGN

Description
This course presents a rational foundation for the preliminary design of motion-sensitive constructions. Subjects coated embrace: analytical and numerical methods for establishing the optimum stiffness distribution, the position of damping in controlling movement, tuned mass dampers, base isolation techniques, and energetic structural management. Examples illustrating the appliance of the motion-based design paradigm to constructing constructions subjected to seismic excitation are mentioned.
